Social Media And Physical Work
Social media is such an important tool for creatives to network and share their work. But it can also lead to burnout fast. Finding a balance between scrolling through hundreds of images in just a few minutes and making time to feel motivated and creative can be difficult. I think it’s something all artists struggle with.
One thing that’s helped me stay motivated during burnout periods is turning to physical work whether that’s looking at the photography of others or revisiting my own. Investing in a few photo books that inspire you is so worth it. Being able to hold someone else’s work, rather than just seeing it on a screen, can help you reconnect with the feeling you might be searching for.
Printing your own images can also remind you why you create art in the first place. Keeping an archive of your work gives you something tangible to return to a reminder of the effort, growth, and pride behind what you’ve made. It’s easy to forget that sometimes.
